28 Apr Oak Hill High School- Kimberly Cortines On How She Brought The Power Of Flight In Her Classroom
Hello Flyers. Do you have trouble getting your students’ heads out of the sky? Need them to focus in school and on their studies? Well, Kimberly Cortines, a teacher at Oak Hill High School, decided to embrace the power of flight and take charge in her Aerospace program. Kimberly Cortines not only teaches mathematics at her local high school but also a special program called Advanced Careers Aerospace Engineering STEM program in West Virginia. In addition to encouraging her students to design, engineer and fly their own planes, she also took the extra step in purchasing some of our Edustations.
“They go on the Edustations for 7 weeks and when they come back to me the next year they will be able to plan out their own flight plan.” Kimberly Cortines states. “I already have two students who went on to get their piloting licenses.”
Way to go Kimberly. We can’t wait to hear more about your students and the amazing adventures you and your students go on. Thank you for sharing your story.
