23 Sep Girls in Aviation Day
STEMPilot is proud to be a part of the 10th annual Girls in Aviation Day, hosted by Women in Aviation International. The event which was held on September 21, 2024 for the Connecticut chapter was a fantastic success in serving the community. Girls in Aviation Day (GIAD) – Women in Aviation International’s mission is to inspire young women to pursue careers in STEM and Aviation. The event encouraged young girls to envision future careers in fields which are traditionally a male-dominated space. This event also offered a great opportunity to connect with mentors, professionals and businesses in the field.
STEMPilot played a major role in the event, by offering a hands-on experience of it’s flight simulator the Edustation Pro. The simulator allowed participants to immerse themselves in a flight scenario, providing an exciting introduction to aviation. STEMPilot’s engaging approach offered young girls the experience flying as a pilot. All while also learning the fundamentals of flight in a an educational and fun way. STEMPilot, accompanied by Pratt & Whitney engineers, Skynet, The Search Rescue team of the Windsor Locks National Guard and various organizations, showcased a lasting impact. Together we fostered the curiosity and ambition of the next generation of women in STEM.
