24 Feb NYC Mid Winter STEM Institute at Stuyvesant High School with STEMPilot Edustations
Hundreds of teachers from all boroughs of NYC attended the Department of Education’s Mid-Winter STEM Institute. There we 30 programs including Aviation and Aeronautics in Math & Science. STEMPilot supplied 4 Edustation flight simulators for the teachers to practice applying classroom math, science and engineering in Meaningful Project Based Learning. The 3-day event began with a greeting from Schools Chancellor Carmen Farina and STEM Director Dr. Linda Curtis-Bey then a session with Dr. Christopher Emdin, Associate Professor, Columbia University. The 3 day class was taught by Henry Rey, a aeronautics teacher at Frederick Douglass Academy in Manhattan and a certified flight instructor. An amazing time was had by all.
